Armando Acevedo
Actor - Nannasuen (God of the Moon), Inanna and the Huluppu Tree;Tin Soldier, The Steadfast Tin Soldier;  Pelayo/Juan Jose/Vagabond, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings

Armando Acevedo is delighted to be performing at last in his native city. He began his professional career at the Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville as Palomo in Nilo Cruz’s Pulitzer-winning Anna in the Tropics after finishing his graduate studies at the California Institute of the Arts. He recently made his television debut as El Comisario Gomez on Univision’s Acorralada, currently airing internationally, and appeared as nurse Enero in Telemundo's El Rostro de Analia.  Mr. Acevedo is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.

Melissa Almaguer

Ms. Almaguer is proud to have worked with The PlayGround Theatre since its inception.  Past PlayGround Theatre roles include Maribel in Pluft, The Little Ghost and Owl/Dormouse/Queen of Hearts in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.  Additional credits include Flora in Tennessee Williams' 27 Wagons Full of Cotton (The Yellow House); Lotte in J.W. Von Goethe's The Sorrows of Young Werther (Miami Light Project); Fifi in The Big Funk (The Mad Man Experiment); Catherine in Proof (Roxy Performing Arts Center); Bash (Union Productions), and Evelyn in Shape of Things (FIU - 2003 Best Actress Award from the Miami SunPost). In addition to performing, Ms. Almaguer teaches acting in the company's educational programs.  She has experience in Theatre Management/Marketing, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from FIU, and is a member of Actors' Equity Association. 

Steve Gladstone
Actor - King Silvio/Farfarello, The Love of Three Oranges

A veteran character actor who has appeared on South Florida stages since 1975, Mr. Gladstone has been featured in plays as diverse as Godspell, Death of a Salesman, The Merchant of Venice, 1776, Waiting for Godot, and Brooklyn Bridge (PGT).  Motion picture credits include roles in "Hot Stuff," "The Island," and "The Specialist."  Appearances in over 60 local and national television commercials include a Cio Award-winning spot for The Miami Herald.  Steve is president of the Florida Branch of Screen Actors Guild and a member of Actors' Equity Association.  He is delighted to be performing for the next generation of theatre-goers!

Crystal Karaginis-Peattie
Actor - Ballerina, The Steadfast Tin Soldier

Ms. Karaginis-Peattie was born in Orlando, FL and trained at the Atlanta Ballet, Studio Atlanta Dance, and The Gulf Coast Florida Ballet in Palm Harbor, FL.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance from New World School of the Arts where she performed works by Robert Battle, John McFall, Merce Cunningham, Gerard Ebitz, and Michael Uthoff and toured Taiwain with "Kaoshuing and Miami Dancing Together."  She has attended The Southern Ballet, The Ailey School, and the Graham School and danced in Miami-area companies including Frederick Bratcher & Co.  A founding member of Miami Dance Project, she is currently performing with E.magine Dance Ensemble.  Ms. Karaginia-Peattie has been teaching since graduating from college and is honored to be sharing her love for dance with the next generation.

Jeff Keogh
Actor - Ningizzida (God of Snakes, Trees, and Medicine), Innana and the Huluppu Tree; Nightingale, The Steadfast Tin Soldier; Afar, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings; Leandro/Truffaldino, The Love of Three Oranges

Mr. Keogh's additional PlayGround credits include Mock/Turtle/Pat the Gardner/Mad Hatter in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland; God in Arthur Miller's The Creation of the World and Other Business; and Peg Leg in Pluft, the Little Ghost.  Originally from Australia, his work there includes Measure for Measure, Hedda Gabler, The Recruit and Front (Green Room Award nomination.)  He has performed many guest roles on television, and his film credits include "The Dish" and "The Bank."  Mr. Keogh trained at The New Actors Workshop, New York.

Noah Levine
Actor - Utu (God of the Sun), Inanna and the Huluppu Tree; Pierrot, The Steadfast Tin Soldier; Cirilo/Showman/Ensemble, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings; Prince Tartaglia, The Love of Three Oranges

Mr. Levine earned his BA in Theatre Performance from Florida Atlantic University in 2004.  Regional credits include:  Charlotte's Web (Actor's Playhouse), Talk Radio (Carbonell nominee for best production, Mosaic Theatre), The Rise of David Levinsky (New Vista Theatre), Cannibal (Promethean Theatre), Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare miami), Crimes of the Heart, and The Last 5 Years (Tamarac Theatre). 

Kristen Dawn McCorkell
Actor – Siduri (Goddess of Merriment)/Ninhursag (Great Mother Earth Goddess), Inanna and the Huluppu Tree; La Luna/Justina/Spider Woman/Ensemble, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings; Doctor #2/Fata Morgana/Princess Ninetta, The Love of Three Oranges

Ms. McCorkell’s past PlayGround roles include the title roles in Pluft, The Little Ghost, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland;  Daughter in The Beast; and Sasha in Brooklyn Bridge. She has taught drama in eight middle schools in South Florida through Arts for Learning.  Ms. McCorkell holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from New World School of the Arts and is a member of the Actors' Equity Association and SAG.  She is the founder of the longest running open mic venue in South Florida, "Theatre de Underground," and in its name has created many benefit concerts and outreach programs to promote artists and help the community at large.

Jesús Quintero

Actor – Priest/Anzu (God of Storms), Inanna and the Huluppu Tree; Troll, The Steadfast Tin Soldier; Momó, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings; Pantalone/Celio, The Love of Three Oranges

Mr. Quintero has directed and performed throughout the world, including Colombia, La Habana, Pennsylvania, New York, and Mexico. Past PlayGround roles include Juan in Pluft, The Little Ghost; Father in The Beast and Duck/Ekeko/King of Hearts in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.  Educated at the renowned Teatro Libre of Bogota, he received additional training through the School of Russian Art Theatre in New York and directing workshops in Brzezinca, Poland with Italy's Teatro La Madrugada and the Grotowski Institute.  Mr. Quintero teaches in The PlayGround Theatre’s educational programs and coordinates the company’s Musical Theatre Summer Camp.  Mr. Quintero is a member of Actors' Equity Association. 
 
Joshua Ritter
Actor - Priest/Gilgamesh, Inanna and the Huluppu Tree; Man with the Panama Hat/Agracelio Duarte/Don Galante/Peddler, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings

Mr. Ritter has performed as an actor, musician, model and voice-over artist.  He worked with Sam Shepard, acting in and composing original music for Hunted at the Public Theater in Manhattan; co-adapted and performed in the stage production of Carl Sandburg’s Rootabaga Stories; co-founded The Peanut Gallery sketch comedy troupe; and recently appeared in an internet commercial for the Sony Ericsson phone.  He also writes and performs music with his wife Karen as the duo Bare. Mr. Ritter graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a double major in Literature and Theatre. Mr. Ritter is a member of Actors' Equity Association.

Carolina Sa
Actor - Inanna, Inanna and the Huluppu Tree; Piggy Bank, The Steadfast Tin Soldier; Elisenda, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings; Princess #1, The Love of Three Oranges

Ms. Sa began her acting career in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the theatre group Time de Teatro.  She performed in theatre festivals under the director Marcio Augusto; participated in a workshop with the company CIA dos Atores; and took part in several productions geared towards Educational Outreach.  Ms. Sa's previous roles at The PlayGround include Grouper/March Hare/Executioner in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland; Doll in The Steadfast Tin Soldier.


Anna Talbot
Actor - Ballerina, The Steadfast Tin Soldier

Ms. Talbot began her training at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia.  At the age of 15, she moved to the U.S. and continued her studies at the Miami City Ballet School where as a senior student she performed with the company in "The Nutcracker," "Coppelia," "Swan Lake," "Stars and Stripes," "Raymonda Variations," and "Who Cares?"  During her four years at New World School of the Arts College/University of Florida, Ms. Talbot was privileged to work with John McFall, Daniel Lewis, Peter London, and Merce Cunningham.  She also participated in Dance Theatre of Harlem and Joffrey Ballet summer intensives.  Professionaly, she danced with the Rosario Suarez Ballet Company and performed for President and Mrs. Ford at the Vail International Dance Festival.  Ms. Talbot recently earned a Masters of Arts in International Administration from the University of Miami.

Valerie Stanford
Actor - Princess Clarice, The Love of Three Oranges

Ms. Stanford currently lives in Boston, where she is an actor, director, and founding member of Boston Arts.  Previous PlayGround Theatre roles include Elisenda/Ensemble, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Nightingale in The Steadfast Tin Soldier.  Ms. Stanford has appeared in over 25 off- and off-off Broadway productions including Miss Julie, Hamlet, Copenhagen, The Full Monty and Anna in the Tropics.  She has directed Wit and Thom Pain: Based on Nothing at the Provincetown Theater.  Ms. Stanford is a member of the Actors' Equity Association.
